Bitter Wine

Hello divine lights,

I hope this message finds you well. Happy Thanksgiving! Take a moment and reflect on your journey in this life..........deep breath.......... be immensely proud of yourself at this very moment. Perhaps you're riding out a storm or have survived it...stand confident and know that at every phase in your life you are everything you have always wanted to be. Even if you don't think so. Believe it! You are perfection!

Bitter Wine
Once desirable
Captivated  appearance
Seducing fragrance
the mist, a glorious tease
I imagined myself enjoying this glass,
Sip by sip
Admiring all the qualities
I have been told it would taste better by age
10 years later, I take a drink
Only to find out my suspicions where true
Somehow in the course of the 10 years, the cork was disintegrating
Exposing the true essence
But I had already poured myself a glass
I had already took a sip
The burn
The self deception
I should have thrown it out years ago
But I kept it
Hanging on to the foolish belief that my loving intentions would override my suspicions
My self deception is exposed
Breath
I will embrace the beauty and take responsibility for my own desires
With that, you are no longer desirable.

For those of you who know me, I don't prefer to drink alcohol. I have forced myself to drink "the occasional beverage" for social reasons.  Truth be told, I will no longer force myself to drink alcohol. For those of you who have caught on, my poem may not be about wine.

Just like you, I have experiences that bring me to my knees and I am forced to reevaluate myself and my environment. That is okay! It's all apart of the currency of this beautiful universe. The constant thing in life is change. Change is growth. Growth is wisdom. Wisdom is unconditional love. Share your wisdom....your unconditional love. Even if your heart aches, feeling lonely, sad or upset. At any dark corner of your life, you are the light for someone.

Many Blessings to you all. Happy Thanksgiving! I am so grateful for you all.

Much love,

Ericka Brian

Digestion

Hello divine lights,

I hope this post finds you all well. I am compelled to blog about digestive health. How is your digestive health? Are you constipated?  Irregular? I am not just talking about physical digestion........how is your emotional digestive health? Some may not think about emotional digestion as much as physical digestion. Physical digestion happens effortlessly, right? Emotional digestion takes work.

Physical digestion is the chemical and mechanical breakdown of food into smaller particles to be absorbed by the blood. Through mastication and the enzymes in the saliva the food is turn into a starch-less bolus. The bolus will travel down the esophagus and into the stomach with the assistance of peristalsis. After the bolus is introduced to the gastric enzymes it will form into chyme and enter the duodenum then the small intestines. The small intestines is were most of the food will be absorbed. What is now left is waste as it travels through the large intestines into the colon  and then the rectum where elimination of what no longer serves you will be push out of your body.

Emotional digestion is a mind and soul experience. The witness (your soul) allows the experiences to come inward, starting off the emotional digestive breakdown. The emotional well- being will evaluate the experience, categorize it and push it along. Somehow, the process of evaluation has been retrained to separate the experience into positive and negative subgroups instead of digesting it as a whole. Once in the subgroup the positive is released and the negative remains. In coming! Here comes another experience and it begins to push the accumulated negative experience  but wait.......it can't get much further..... there are emotional ties to it.....No no no....let go...where did these ties come from? Who put them here? I know.....it was pain....sadness....anger...disappointment. The accumulation of negative experiences will cause the accumulation of toxic waste and eventually taking up the space beyond it's own space. Yes, if the toxic waste is not eliminated joyful experiences will become a nuisance.

An example of accumulated emotional waste would be an experience you have that will occasionally replay in your head. Perhaps you might have triggers attached to your experience; a fragrance, a restaurant a car. These triggers some how take you back to the experience and suddenly you are submerged in anger and pain you once felt.

Breath.........

You can retrain your emotional digestion. Every experience that is encounter is intended to pass through you, as a whole. Through meditation and detachment of expectations we can be free to effortlessly digest any experience. Naturally embrace and enjoy every sensation of your experience. Where ever there is resistance there is opportunity to grow and learn.

Be kind to yourself and know that at every level of your experience, only you will know if it's for your own well being. Don't allow the judgments of others to influence your experience. This is your life, your experience and your digestion. Always feel free to re-evaluate your digestion. If the experience is toxic within itself only you can remove yourself from the experience.

For assistance in detachment and meditation please enroll in one of my services. Please feel free to leave a comment and share thoughts you would like me to explore.

Much love,
Ericka Brian
